What is SSC GD Constable?

About SSC GD Constable Exam: The SSC GD Constable is a national level recruitment exam, conducted by the Staff Selection Commission of India. The Staff Selection Commission releases the notification to recruit aspiring candidates into repost of constable (general duty) and riflemen (general duty) to fill the vacant positions with quality candidates. The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted to fill the posts of constables based on the vacancies in the following forces.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Vacancy

SSC GD Constables are recruited to promote a sense of security among the people living in the border areas. Their role is to prevent trans-border crimes, unauthorized entry into or exit from the territory of India. They are responsible for preventing smuggling or any other illegal activities on the Border.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) announced a mega recruitment drive to fill up a total of 25,271 vacancies to various posts. Out of these, at least 2847 vacancies are reserved for women candidates. The SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2021 is being conducted for posts including Constable (General Duty) in Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles (AR). SSC GD Constable vacancies in SSF will be filled on All India basis whereas vacancies in all other CAPFs will be filled as per the vacancies available in various States/ UTs. In addition, vacancies are earmarked for the Border Guarding Districts and Militancy/ Naxal affected Districts which are reserved for the candidates of these districts only.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Eligibility Criteria

You might be wondering about the eligibility criteria before registering for the exam. The candidates who will satisfy the SSC GD post conditions will able to apply the application form online. The eligibility criteria of the SSD GD Constable exam are as follows.

  1. Nationality –
  2. Candidate must be a citizen of India with a valid ID proof.
  3. Educational Qualification-
  4. Candidates who have passed 10th or equivalent from a recognized board.
  5. Candidates who are appearing for the 10th examination are not eligible.
  6. .Age limit
  7. The age of the candidate should be between 18 and 23 years during the application process.
  8. The crucial date of age-limit will be calculated with reference to 01-08-2021
  9. However, upper limit age relaxation is given for reserved categories.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Selection Process

To be hired for this post, some selection process has been decided by the organization, and accordingly, your selection will be done.

  1. CBE – Computer-Based Examination

The first stage of the selection process is the Computer Based Examination. There will be 4 sections and each section carries 25 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Overall, there are 100 questions in the CBE. Marking Scheme and duration: +1 mark is awarded for each correct answer and there is no negative marking for incorrect answer. The total time duration of the paper is 90 minutes.

  • PET – Physical Efficiency Test

This test is conducted in order to access the physical fitness of the candidates. This is followed by a race. Later a Bio-metric/ Technology aided test will be conducted.

  • PST – Physical Standard Test

On the basis of height, weight, and chest the physical standard of the candidate is determined.

  • MDE – Detailed Medical Examination

Here the candidates will be medically examined and their physical and medical fitness will be determined.

SSC GD Constable 2021Syllabus

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non- verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.

General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.

Elementary Mathematics: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc. English/ Hindi: Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi and his basic comprehension would be tested.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Registration

  • The first step is the One-Time registration.
  • Candidates must enter all their personal and educational details such as candidate’s name, date of birth, parent’s name, nationality, mobile number, email ID, category, permanent and communication address, class 10 details, roll number, name of education board and year of passing.
  • Candidates need to upload the latest passport size photograph and scanned copy of the signature.
  • Check all the information entered by the candidate.
  • Once submitted, the registration ID and password will be sent to the candidate’s email ID and mobile number.
  • After completing the registration process, candidates can pay the application fee through online or SBI challan.

SSC GD Constable 2021 Admit Card

Once the application process is over, the candidates will receive the admit card which needs to be downloaded online. The Staff Selection Commission will release the admit card on their official website. Admit cards are issued for all the three stages of the examination and the admit card for the SSC GD written exam is expected to be released in the first week of November. Candidates should take the admit card along with a valid ID proof to the exam center.
